Job Description

We are seeking a Junior Oracle Database Administrator with 2–4 years of hands-on experience supporting Oracle database environments. The role focuses on day-to-day database administration, monitoring, and operational support, working under the guidance of senior DBAs to ensure database availability, performance, and security.

This position is ideal for someone with strong Oracle fundamentals who is eager to grow into a senior DBA role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day administration of Oracle databases (standalone and/or RAC)
  • Monitor database health, performance, and availability
  • Assist with database installation, configuration, and upgrades
  • Perform routine DBA tasks including:
    • Database startup and shutdown
    • Tablespace and storage management
    • User creation, role assignment, and privilege management
  • Execute and monitor backup and recovery operations using RMAN
  • Assist in database patching (PSU/RU) under guidance of senior DBAs
  • Support database refreshes and cloning for development and test environments
  • Monitor and troubleshoot alerts, logs, and performance issues
  • Work closely with application, infrastructure, and OS teams to resolve issues
  • Maintain operational documentation and standard procedures
  • Participate in on-call or after-hours support as required

Required Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle Database 11g/12c/19c
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Oracle database architecture
    • RMAN backup and recovery
    • ASM (basic level)
  • Experience on Linux/Unix platforms
  • Basic shell scripting skills
  • Familiarity with Oracle alert logs, AWR/ASH reports (basic analysis)
  • Strong troubleshooting and communication skills

Nice to have

  • Exposure to Oracle RAC and Data Guard
  • Basic performance tuning experience
  • Experience with OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager)
  • Oracle certification (OCA/OCP)
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, or Azure)
